Why are students who miss/skip classes given ISS?
It's for In School Suspension, and it's the biggest crock of shite ever. Lemme explain. The school doesn't want people to skip class, because class attendance is important... right? Being in class is the key to good grades and learning stuff. However, if you miss classes 'cause you skip them, sometimes you get In School Suspension, which is where instead of going to your classes for a day, you sit in this unwindowed, poorly lit room doing little (if anything). Usually, the student didn't do anything to disrupt his/her class(es) and has no reason for being out of class
even more. Basically, for not being in class, you are punished/awarded (opinions differ) with *more* being away from your classes.
Is that incompetent or what? I'd say our school needs an administration that knows their stuff, not a gaggle of slack-offs who can't decide whether it's good or not for kids to be in class.

I, for one, nominate Arnold Schwarzenegger for executive principal. If he can be gub'ner of CA, then he could do a kick-ass job admonishtrating students. Certainly better than that of the current regime. Just watch Kindergarten Cop... this guy really knows his stuff. I could see him giving out wedgies to class-skippers (rather than making them miss more classes), then booting them out of the office with an "Hasta la Vista, Baby!". God Bless America.
